I rather liked the device of a rocket narrating the story of its crew. It just isn't the "correct" winner here.<br /><br />Clifford D. Simak's story, "Desertion", received four times (exactly) as many nominations—yet the convention voters chose Ray's story.<br /><br />What a pity that "The Lake" just missed the ballot.
