I've been putting off doing this one, but finally decided to bite the proverbial bullet.
What makes Ray Bradbury's writing distinctive? The usual answer is "style".
But what exactly is style? In the podcast I address this question while trying not to be too academic. Although some of my academic friends might quibble with my definitions and my argument...

Really interesting on what could be a dull subject! Bradbury is the only author who I sometimes read aloud (when I'm alone!) His style lends well to that, for me anyway. Dandelion Wine is actually my favourite book and I've often read that aloud. I started as a bookseller in 1988 and have to be held back if someone asks about Bradbury, I can't recommend him enough! Thanks again.
Thanks, OldMod67. I feared "style" would be dull, which is why I put off doing it until now!
Very much enjoyed this podcast.
We're starting Bradbury's Zen and the Art of Writing for our podcast, Words to Write by, we'll be covering 2-3 chapters per episode - discussing his ideas and trying out his approach to writing. Given your expertise, could we do an interview with you for the podcast? We're interested in what motivated Bradbury to publish this book, what kind of reception it received, and if you would recommend this book to aspiring writers. Happy to talk more to you about this.
Thanks, UNKNOWN. I'd be up for an interview. Maybe you could email me (bradburymedia at yahoo dot co dot uk) and we can discuss further.
